earlier a week ago galaxy note 3 benchmarks popped with an impressive score.  Well it looks like the Pantech IM-A880 has just surpassed it. The Galaxy Note 3 scored 27,914 on AnTuTu with Android 4.3, while the new Pantech IM-A880 (I hope that’s just a codename) scored 20,133 on AnTuTu. Pantech is another Korean manufacturer, who are fighting to keep up with Samsung and LG in their home land. They just unveiled the Pantech Vega Iron IM-A870, which is a great looking device with even better specs. This the device they are using to fight off the Galaxy S4, HTC One and Optimus G Pro from their respective competitors. Now the sequel to the Vega Iron has been shown on AnTuTu and it’s the Pantech IM-A880.

Keep in mind that there are two different variants of this device on AnTuTu, as you can see in that screenshot above. There is the IM-A880S and the IM-A880K. The IM-A880S is running a 2.1GHz processor, which is more than likely the Snapdragon 800, since it can go all the way to 2.3GHz. The IM-A880K is running in Korea and has a 1.9GHz processor. Now this could also be the Snapdragon 800, it could be the Snapdragon 600 as well. Who knows at this point. It’s all speculation right now.

Based on the model numbers, we are going to assume that the IM-A880S is for SK Telecom and the IM-A880K is for KT in Korea. If the specs are high enough, I definitely hope that Pantech will bring this device over to the US, but they seem to only bring mid-range or low-end devices over here. The Pantech Vega Iron 2 certainly is looking to be a great device.
