Samsung itself has provided us with confirmation of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini. Our sources have revealed that the phone selector of the Samsung Apps website provides the Galaxy S4 Mini as one of the choices.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini was widely expected in the Android community before any public mention of it was ever made.  Samsung has developed a somewhat predictable pattern of delivering a flagship model and then releasing several variations of that phone.  While some might argue that this is overly saturating the market, I think Samsung is doing something really smart.  ”Mindshare”, otherwise to be thought of as synonymous brand recognition, is what every Android OEM is after, be it due to the stiff competition with each other to be the king of the Android powered phone manufacturers or when competing against other mobile operating systems like Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 and Apple’s iOS.

As per usual, the Galaxy S4 Mini will be a slightly less powerful, smaller version of its namesake, Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S4.  Features are expected to include:

1.6 GHz Exynos Dual-Core Processor
4.3 inch Super-AMOLED Display
540 x 960 resolution
1 GB and 2 GB of RAM variants
Android OS 4.2.2, Jellybean
8 MP camera
2100 mAh battery
We have no idea when the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini will be available, the carriers that will pick it up or the price point at which it will be available, but as more details you can count on Android Headlines to keep you up to date.  If you have not already picked up a Samsung Galaxy S4 as your new phone of choice, since the Galaxy S4 Mini will undoubtedly be available at a lower price point than its big brother.
