The Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Edition, the device that will bring a Nexus-like experience in a Galaxy wrapper, has passed one more step on its way to U.S. shelves and that’s the Bluetooth Special Interest Group(SIG).
The Google edition of the Galaxy S4 will support Bluetooth 4.0 with its low energy profile and with those following profiles: HSP, AVRCP, OPP, PAN, HID, A2DP, HFP, PBAP, DI.
It’s actually the SIG that tells us the model number for the device, GT-I9505G, which is clearly very similar to the GT-I9505 model number for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 version of the handset. Naturally, we will note that the SIG doesn't actually specify that the GT-I9505G is the Nexus experience Galaxy S4, but that “G” most likely stands for Google Edition.
It will likely add an even bigger boost to the already record-shattering sales of the Galaxy S4. The 2013 Samsung Android flagship sold 10 million units in less than a month of availability.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 will go on sale on the U.S. Play Store on June 26th for $649.
